THE ARTIST’S WAY

I don’t go to school, but I am a perpetual student. I am not a spiritual teacher, but I am a way-shower. I am not a healer, but I make people feel better. I am not a counselor, but I listen. I am not the person who makes changes for others, but I catalyze change wherever I go.

DISCOVERING MYSELF

I am beginning to own my role as a “resistor” in the world. As in an electrical circuit - a resistor changes the flow of energy. That’s me. I’m finding it’s a lonely place to be, but it is how I be, and I accept all aspects of myself, whether yet known to me or not. I hope I catalyze change for the better, as that is always my intention, but we all know what paves the road to hell…

To own my role in this world, who I truly am, I have to first discover myself – all those pieces I disowned or disassociated from throughout my life, or never knew at all. As I begin to know myself more wholly, I can allow myself to be truly seen by others. In short, I can shine in only the unique way that I can.

A TOOL FOR SELF-DISCOVERY

You can shine too, in only the unique way you can! One of the most powerful tools in self-discovery I have used is Julia Cameron’s, The Artist’s Way. “The work” of The Artist’s Way is an entirely individual, private process that spans twelve weeks of rediscovering elements of your “inner artist,” also known as your “inner child.” If you’re curious, I detail some of my experience from 2018 doing The Artist’s Way for the first time here. It does not matter if you have done The Artist’s Way in the past, you will discover new parts of yourself, ready to emerge at this time.

And so, I’d like to invite you to join me on a journey back to ourselves…

INTRODUCING SOUL SUNDAYS @ THE STATION

Just after Ma’s Kitchen @ The Station closes to the public on Sunday, February 12th at 3pm, we will open for the soul-seekers ready to reclaim unknown parts of ourselves. Our first Soul Sunday meeting will simply be a discussion and answering questions about The Artist’s Way, guided by those of us who have gone through this process before. Before we part, you will be comfortable with committing to do this work, or knowing now is not your time for this kind of journey.

Soul Sundays will continue for those committed to doing this work at this time. Our time together is intended to be of support and witness to each of us knowing something about ourselves that we did not know before. I wish I would have had such a community when I first did The Artist’s Way, and I am so grateful I can provide this space and support to anyone interested now. Yes, that means YOU!!

BEGIN YOUR JOURNEY HERE

You can purchase copies of The Artist’s Way at In the Making, across the street from The Station on Main Street in Trempealeau. The Shirley M. Wright Memorial Library in Trempealeau will also have four copies reserved for loan beginning on February 8, 2023, if you want to check it out before buying.

Bring your soul down to Ma’s Kitchen @ The Station… where the light is always shining for you!
