What’s Next?!

chugga, chugga, choo, choo!

In recent days, I’ve been thinking about why we all do what we do the way we do it. If you’ve read my personal blog, you might be familiar with some of the challenges I’ve faced over the last year. I am not alone - I see you, I hear you, I feel you. My driving motivation behind The Station is to create something of benefit to our entire community that also allows me to make a living doing what lights me up - everybody wins!

I have invited interested co-engineers on this grand journey to come help me make them a coffee and see if their interests align with my vision for the future of The Station, this Wednesday, October 26 from 3:30 to 6:30pm. I can’t wait to meet my new co-workers and see what magic we can whip up on Main Street! Wanna join us? Check out the details here!

What is this magic vision, you ask? At first, I am blessed to ride the coattails of my predecessors’ vision. Yes, that’s right, I will be making nearly ZERO changes for the first few months as The Station starts chugging into existence. Driftless Bike N’ Bean and Liberty Peak Deli will close at the end of their day on October 31, 2022. The Station and I will share our birthdays on Monday, November 7, 2022, serving up exactly the same menu you already love! You’ll even get to visit Brad, as he has graciously agreed to mentor me and our team as we build steam for our “grand” re-opening in March(ish) 2023.

During the dead of winter, we will stall our engines for a modest remodel, increasing seating and changing the look and feel from one vision to another. The few months conducting biz consistent with that of our Fearless Mentor (that’s Brad!) will allow us to solidify planned changes, get our wheels greased up and running smooth, and most importantly, will allow our customers some consistency during a period of gradual changes. Again - everybody wins!

I want to sincerely thank the lovely people at Driftless Bike N’ Bean and Liberty Peak Deli for weathering a lot of uncertainty over the last year as plans changed and changed again as I weathered my own storms on the homefront. And I am humbled by the encouragement of so many familiar and soon-to-be familiar loyal customers and friends. Your support for everyone involved in this transition is astounding and speaks to the character of our entire community. Thank you so very much!

While I’m as excited as a little kid at Christmas, I am also nervous as all get-out! But, I know and love this place and many of our loyal customers. I can’t wait…to meet you, to hear your stories, to serve you up some yummies. I can’t wait take your ticket for an experience that let’s you linger a little longer as we share in something special together…down at The Station.
