“THE SOUL OF TREMPEALEAU”
Well, this has been a long-time comin' friends! Many of you have heard the story of our inspired idea to start an internet-streaming radio station out of the train caboose down at The Station on Main Street in Trempealeau…and it IS REALLY happening!!
Our founding crew has been working behind-the-scenes for months now laying down the tracks for this grand adventure, with the help of some super-cool radio partners, our friends at Happy Production Studios in Cambridge, MN! A partnership only possible through one of the DEECE-EST people we know, Gregg “Cheech” Hall, musician, promoter, teacher and connector of community awesomeness! Read on for more of this amazing story in-the-works!
Something to talk about…
Our menu at Ma’s Kitchen at The Station is changing…again! We are embracing what this space is meant to be, and letting go of what is just not working, and are happy to announce Ma’s Kitchen will be serving additional breakfast items from 6am until 3pm daily, and soup as our only “lunch” option for the remaining summer months. Our evening hours will begin a little later, 5:30 to 7:30, for your after-dinner espresso or ice cream! We will continue our full coffee and ice cream shop offerings, and will add to those as we feel inspired!
We’re open!
We did it! Well, we did A LOT! And by "we", I mean a bunch of big-hearted, hard-working friends, neighbors and a few dedicated employees who chose to work far outside of their regularly scheduled duties. "Gratitude and appreciation" don't quite describe my feels toward these beautiful humans...I am so blessed to be surrounded by so many good people!
THE ARTIST’S WAY
I don’t go to school, but I am a perpetual student. I am not a spiritual teacher, but I teach. I am not a healer, but I heal. I am not a counselor, but I listen. I am not the person who makes changes for others, but I catalyze change wherever I go. In short, I can shine in only the unique way that I can.
You can shine too, in only the unique way that you can! One of the most powerful tools in self-discovery I have used is Julia Cameron’s, The Artist’s Way. “The work” of The Artist’s Way is an entirely individual, private process that spans twelve weeks of rediscovering elements of your “inner artist,” also known as your “inner child.” It does not matter if you have done The Artist’s Way in the past, you will discover new parts of yourself, ready to emerge at this time.
Cha-Cha-changes!
Everyone has been anxiously awaiting news of our up-coming rearrange/reface down at The Station. Well, wait no longer, friends! Our last day of our current service will be Saturday, January 28th, 2023. After a fresh coat of paint, rearrange, new signage and more, we will reopen on Friday, February 10th at 6:00am! Yep, new hours too!
Happy Birthday!
It’s happening! In just a few hours both Ma’s Kitchen @ The Station and I will be celebrating our arrivals Earth-side. We open at 6:30am and look forward to serving up your familiar favorites: coffee, goodies, sandwiches, soup, all with a side of sincere appreciation for all of YOU! I hope you can join us for cake (that part’s on us), coffee, conversation, and celebration…down at The Station!
What’s Next?!
What is this magic vision, you ask? At first, I am blessed to ride the coattails of my predecessors’ vision. Yes, that’s right, I will be making nearly ZERO changes for the first few months as The Station starts chugging into existence. The Station and I will share our birthdays on Monday, November 7, 2022, serving up exactly the same menu you already love! You’ll even get to visit Brad, as he has graciously agreed to mentor me and our team as we build steam for our “grand” re-opening in March(ish) 2023.
MY STORY…
And so here we are, a bittersweet moment for sure, as we say good-bye to Driftless Bike N‘ Bean and Liberty Peak Deli. Brad and Amy Stanislowski, their children, and everyone who has served our community within these businesses have made an indelible, positive impact reaching far beyond Trempealeau. Thanks to these lovely humans, locals return daily and many travelers look forward to visiting our beautiful village season after season.
